DESCRIPTION:
Since 1952 we have been the leading supplier of specialized heavy remote equipment to support our customers manufacturing processes within the steel and non-ferrous markets. We are seeking an energetic, dedicated, and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our operational processes within our 24/7/365 service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset, with a proven track record in managing teams and driving process improvements in a quick paced environment. This role ensures that our operations align with the company's goals, initiatives, and continued strong customer relations.
At minimum, bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, management or a related field is recommended. A candidate for the role should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience working in an industrial environment and five years’ experience in a management or leadership capacity position. The ideal candidate will have past experience with scheduling union labor and logistical operations.
The Operations Manager will regularly assist with safety, sales, inventory, and personnel needs while reporting to the Area Director. A maximum of 10% travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across all local departments, including scheduling of people and assets.
- Develop and implement plans to improve processes, enhance productivity, and drive profitability.
- Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee project management and maintenance initiatives, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Analyze and manage profitability. Review statements to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to align operational capabilities with market demands.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational success and implement necessary adjustments.
- Maintain equipment and fleet records to control preventative maintenance and spend.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure cohesive operations and alignment with company objectives.
- Support administratively with weekly payroll and purchasing approvals, invoicing, and employee compliances as necessary.

- Proven experience in an operations management role or similar position.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strategic planning experience, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
- Familiar with job costing and financial reviews.
- Strong background in customer service and the ability to multi-task.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
