During the process of draining the tank, the GOM-360 BDR can be used to open the drains with minimal worker exposure to residual bauxite and caustic acid. KT-Grant specialty-engineered equipment is placed through the top of the tank opening and onto the floor to begin scale remove immediately.

Machine traverses the sloping 5-7° tapered floor and over any scallops utilizing rubber track pads. The 360° rotating boom and hammer attachment remove scale from side walls and beneath the launder; fracturing scale inside the launder and assisting scale removal.

Designed to reach difficult areas, our equipment cleans the lattice rake and outside surfaces of torque hub, shaft, and feed well. Depending on the thickness of scale, maintenance downtime can be reduced by as much as 75% Days are saved by not waiting for manual labor and scaffold set up. Precipitator and Digester Scale Removal

The machine is lowered into the precipitator by winch or crane to begin scale remove immediately. Depending on the thickness of scale, maintenance downtime can be reduced to as much as 75%.

Pot Cell Lining Removal and Segregation

Anodes and cathodes are removed and placed on cart for easy removal using KT-Grant specialty-engineered grapple. Our 360-degree rotating boom minimizes the hand labor necessary for final cleaning.

99% of the spent pot lining is removed with no manual labor. Equipment is controlled remotely with operator safely out of harm’s way. Remote-controlled equipment allows the operator to move freely and more efficiently around the work area, reducing the risk of grounding out the pot line. Crane service is eliminated, resulting in less manual labor and rigging in a hazardous environment.
